Yirdy har siden starten af firserne sat sit præg på den dansk /keltiske musikscene med sine sange og karakteristiske instrument Bones – et instrument som Yirdy behersker med virtuositet bl.a. fik han i 2002 den ærefulde titlel: World Champion på bones
In Copenhagen, four young musicians were
eagerly playing away in sessions at any given
opportunity, they quickly decided to form a band,
and soon after they joined forces with Scottish
singer and bones-player Yirdy Machar.
BoneZone was a reality.
Bonezone is a Danish band who plays Irish and Scottish
traditional music.
The band is focusing on the energy and the humour in the
music, and in the same time adding a few different elements
to the arrangements.
The members of the band have different musical backgrounds,
and have played in many different constellations;
Marching bands, Danish and Scottish dance orchestras,
bluegrass bands, folk-rock bands and so on.
One could say that BoneZone is a musical playground,
where tradition meets new ideas without changing its
original form.
